Our Story

Trade built on the terroir, not the transaction

template-coffee-origin was founded with one conviction: the best coffee in Indonesia was being undervalued because it never reached the right buyers. We built direct relationships with 200+ smallholder farms across Toraja, Enrekang, and Mamasa — paying above-market premiums, investing in post-harvest infrastructure, and earning the trust that makes consistent supply possible.

Today our buyers include Michelin-starred hotel groups, specialty importers, and private-label roasters across six continents. Every shipment comes with full chain-of-custody documentation, cupping notes from our SCA-certified team, and a direct line to the farmer.

The Terroir

Volcanic soil. Equatorial rhythm. No shortcuts.

Sulawesi's highlands sit between 1,200–1,600 metres above sea level, with daily temperature swings that slow cherry development and concentrate sugars. The island's mineral-rich volcanic soils — a legacy of ancient eruptions — impart the earthy depth and low acidity that make Sulawesi coffee unmistakable to trained palates worldwide.

What Buyers Say

We work with specialty importers, private-label roasters, and hospitality procurement teams. This is what they tell others.

In fifteen years of sourcing Indonesian coffee, the consistency, documentation, and communication from template-coffee-origin has no equal. We moved our entire Sulawesi allocation to them in year two and have never reconsidered.
